Born in 7 january 1985, Lewis Carl Hamilton began karting in 1993. He was good, soon start to winning races and championships.
In 2001 he joined the 2001 British Formula Renault Winter Series, finishing fifth overall. Here is what Schumacher said about him in 2001:”He’s a quality driver, very strong and only 16. If he keeps this up I’m sure he will reach F1. It’s something special to see a kid of his age out on the circuit. He’s clearly got the right racing mentality.”
2002 Hamilton finish third in Formula Renault UK championship with three wins and three pole positions.
2003 Forumla Renault UK champion.
2004 won a race in the Formula Three Euroseries and finish fifth in championship. He also won the Bahrain F3 Superprix, race one of the Macau F3 Grand Prix.
Also, this was the year when he had his first test with a McLaren F1 car.
2005 He defected to reigning Euroseries champions ASM for the 2005 season and dominated the championship, winning 15 of the 20 rounds. He also won the Ultimate Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort.
2006 won the GP2 series.
